Communion is a church ordinance, instituted by Christ, where believers partake of bread and the cup, representing Christ’s body and blood, to commemorate and proclaim His atoning death. Paul refers to it as a “participation in the body of Christ” and should be preceded by careful self-examination to avoid taking it in an unworthy manner.
